Everest Strong Coaching is a powerful podcast for ambitious, goal-oriented individuals looking to improve their game. I sat down to discuss the importance of mental game coaching with Bill Cole, an internationally recognized authority on peak performance and founder of the International Mental Game Coaching Association.
The purpose of a mental game coach is to provide strategies and tools to give athletes the extra competitive edge they are looking for. Each athlete is different and requires specialized plans to make their goal a reality. Some athletes cannot bear the extreme pressure to win and succeed at all costs, while others are being held back due to guilty feelings of outperforming others. The expectations and demands being put on young athletes are having a far bigger impact on mental health than most of us know. Athletes of all ages struggle with a wide range of obstacles, and it is my job as a mental game coach to help your child overcome these obstacles.
As both a certified Clinical Psychologist and a certified mental game coach I’m able to give you a holistic view of the problem at hand, as well as effective techniques, specifically designed for your child. Many athletes’ struggles relate only to their sport, while others have difficulties across the board in most aspects of their lives. My clinical expertise provides me with a wider understanding of the human underneath the athlete.
